Mario Mancia a painter who works and lives in Rome.

"Each painting painted in recent years has had a long and tormented time of realization. I experienced the construction, the evolution and the end of each painting as the overcoming of an inner conflict, a very long process that is nothing more than the representation of the mirror of my soul imprinted on the canvas through fragments of color "

ABOUT ME

“Being a sponge of the surrounding world”

is a "mantra" that I always repeat to myself! Translating the experience of contemporary life onto the canvas is the thing that has always attracted me the mostly.

My paintings always draw inspiration from sections of real life in which one can immerse oneself and recognize oneself.

Often I painted my personal moods with the awareness that by imprinting pieces of my life on canvas I would surely give substance and truth to the work. the purpose of this work is to create a direct perceptual flow with the observer who can recognize himself in the mood of the painting, with the aim of sharing and perceiving my own feelings.
My expressive force takes its life blood and inspiration from people and especially from the infinity of feelings that make the experience of life so rich, and that are endlessly repeated in anyone's life.

The joy, the fear, the anger, the search for a path when you don't know what to do with your life, the surprise, the pain of a loss, the anxiety, the calm, the empathic pain, the indifference, the shared love, basically the emotional universe that I can read inside all those photographs of real life  that happen on the street around me.

Through both the pictorial and scenographic technique typical of the world of architecture, I try to translate these moods into figures or images and symbols that can arouse in the mind of the observer a shareable cognitive experience.

Sharing the experience, recognizing themselves in to the work as well as in a story in a book or a song text, feeling that the viewer is identifying with the work, is the goal I would like to achieve through my drawings.

Technically, the idea of contextualizing the themes treated in my paintings as within a scenography matured in me. Perspective construction lines used as theatrical wings to guide the viewer's eye into the heart of the painting.

The same use of light that gains strength as it approaches the "fulcrum" of the painting is an explicit guide for the eye of the beholder.

Through the constant research that links shapes and colors to different moods I have developed this personal language in which I have always tried to evolve the technique and the form to promote the narration as much as possible.

Through symbolism and the creation of imaginary figures and certainly with the help of scenographic construction I try to design an"expressionist" imaginary world  in which the viewer can immerse himself to establish a strong empathy ant at the same time a simple and direct reading skills.

The utopistic purpose of my production is to overcome through a synthetic language the barrier of the concept of "Hermetic Art" to reconnect it and tranlate in to the common people lenguagies. In some way I'm trying to find a way to give to the others both the ability to read and interact with my inner world.

In each paintings I'm hiding words or phrases that represent a direct reading keys of the sense of my work.Interaction with people through technique and experimentation, and the real desire to try to find a perceptual connection with them is my ambition and it is what I hope makes my way of painting true and sincere.
